What is Rucking
and why?
Rucking is a focused hike with a weight pack. Nordic walking is a focused walk with poles. Both are fitness activities which engage the upper and lower body to improve overall fitness. Marry together and you have an active hike using arms and core. Rucking is an
endurance-building workout level while conversing with friends.
Build up fitness to do cool things such as: Ski De She / Birke Trail Run / Chequamegon / Birke or Korte and whatever other Big Ol’ goal you choose!
What is needed with “Nordic Rucking”?
- Comfortable backpack to hold 10-20lbs of weight (available at GW)
- Fanny pack for small essentials (if needed, at GW)
- Hiking poles with performance grip + gloves (if needed or questions, at GW)
- Drinking system + a treat if needed (wonderful drink systems at GW)
- Weather appropriate clothing (GW can answer any questions on clothing)
- Flexible, stable hiking shoes + wool socks
- Should you bring your doggy, a hands free dog leash (Stunt Puppy, at GW)
