Pepsi Challenge & Eric Judeen Wax Recommendations

We have been busy testing the new fluor free waxes this early winter, if you are looking for a recommendation for this weekend’s races, see below.  We have tested waxes from Swix, Rex, Vauhti, Rode, and Start, among others, below are some recommendations that will make your skis fast in these fluor-free times.

Pepsi Challenge- Biwabik, MN- Saturday, March 4th, 2023

Weather:

Friday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Friday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight.

Saturday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Recommendation :

Base – Swix Marathon, Rode Endurance

Paraffin – Swix HS7, Rode R30

Liquid – Swix HS7, Rode RL Med, Toko HP Red

Kick – Toko Green Base Binder covered with Rode V0, Swix VP50

Structure – LZ2 stone grind with one pass of the Toko Structurite Red rollers.

Erik Judeen Classic- Duluth, MN- Sunday, March 5th, 2023

Weather:

Saturday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. West wind around 10 mph.

Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 16. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday - A 20 percent chance of snow after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. Breezy, with a west wind 5 to 15 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
