Why is a gravel bike so popular?

  • In summary, Gravel bikes are a little less fast than road bikes, but more speedy than fat tire bikes, mtn bikes and upright ‘hybrid’ bikes. They usually come with drop handle bars which can be changed to straight bars should the rider want a more upright and stable position all the time. Otherwise the drop bars allow for an aero (faster) bike position in addition to more upright options.
