Seeley Hills Classic & Pre-Loppet Wax Recommendations

We have been busy testing the new fluor free waxes this early winter, if you are looking for a recommendation for this weekend’s Seeley Hills Classic and Pre-Loppet, see below.  We have tested waxes from Swix, Rex, Vauhti, Rode, and Start, among others, below are some recommendations that will make your skis fast in these fluor-free times.

Seeley Hills Classic - Seeley, WI - Saturday, January 14th, 2023

Weather-

Thursday - A chance of flurries with a slight chance of snow showers before 4pm, then a chance of flurries between 4pm and 5pm. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 23. North wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Friday - Partly sunny, with a high near 24. Calm wind.

Friday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 8. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight.

Saturday - Partly sunny, with a high near 30. South wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Paraffin – Swix HS5, Rode R20, Toko HP Blue

Liquid – Swix HS6, Rode RL Cold

Kick – Toko Green Base Binder ironed in, wax options to try: Rode B17, Swix VP40

Weather-

Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 12. South wind around 5 mph.

Saturday - Partly sunny, with a high near 34. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. South southeast wind around 10 mph.

Sunday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. South wind around 10 mph.
