Product Description
The V2 XL9848 All Terrain Classic Rollerski is a contemporary version of the V2 Terra ski introduced in the mid 90's. The V2 Terra was a very popular classic ski for rough pavement and hard packed dirt roads. The V2 Terra was Olympic Champion Kristina Smigun's favorite classic ski. Her Estonian teammates Jak Mai and Andrus Veerpalu, both Olympic Champions, also used the Terra.
Unfortunately the wheel manufacturer had so many problems producing acceptable wheels V2 had to discontinue the Terra some 10 years ago. However, so many skiers were asking us for a classic ski for rough pavement and dirt roads that in the summer of 2010 V2 began the design of a new wheel and a new shaft using the XL construction, which accepts the latest Speed Reducers and brakes.
The V2 XL 9848 wheels use the same aluminum hub extrusion as the V2 XL98R, except it's machined to a wider dimension. Like the V2 Terra, the V2 XL9848 is quite heavy, but for classic it does not really matter. As Kristina said, it [V2 Terra] made her a stronger and better skier.
