Poles - What Should You Use When Rollerskiing?

Using poles with very stiff shafts such as the Swix Star CT1 or Triax can result in what we at Gear West affectionately refer to as "Liebsch Elbow". One can develop overuse injuries from repeated jarring motion at pole plant. Rollerskiing with a light weight, softer pole such as the Swix CT3, CT4, or CT5 may help remedy this. The shafts of these poles are constructed with 80 percent carbon fiber and 20 percent fiberglass wrap, providing a slight give at pole plant and protecting vulnerable tendons and ligaments from injury.
