Why were BIXBY PELLET STOVES and TRAGER PELLET GRILLS added the Gear West line up? 

Three reasons:

1. the new GW Ski/Run/Soccer building
2. the energy and cost saving of pellet stove heat and specifically, the forward-thinking design of the Bixby Enery stove and
3. the existing Gear West customer profile.

We wanted to add an apre ski, customer friendly, warming area in the new retail building and investigated fake fireplaces.  However we quickly became intriqued with a better heating option, the Bixby Pellet Stove.  The more we read about the advances made in heating by pellets or corn the more excited we became about this type of heat source as an efficient, clean, compact, functional, quiet and inexpensive way to heat a house, retail store or cabin as compared to wood stoves or gas fireplaces.  We also thought that many of our GW customers would feel the same way and would appreciate the value of Pellet/Corn burning stoves either in their house or cabin.  Additionally, no local fireplace or hearth store did a good job explaining the pellet stove options to us, and we new we could do a better job of explaining and promoting the Bixby stove to interested folks. So that's it...the reason why we are now carrying the Bixby Corn/Pellet burner.

Why Trager Grills? Because we are following the pellet theme! These grills  heat up quickly, make grilled food taste better, cook more evenly, they don't burn up meat like charcoal...try it out!

So we diversified a bit, but we are NOT adding lawn furniture!
