A condensed GW explaination for why there are two seperate stores under one roof named Gear West:

Gear West started 16 years ago as a bike, triathlon, xc ski store because of our passions and knowledge in those areas. Instead of duplicating many little GW's all over the place, we focused on becoming one really, really good specialty sports store offering service and product choices that a multi store owner cannot do.

Over the years as we outgrew the one location and split temporarily (or so we thought) into two locations, one with bikes and the other with skis and  running shoes. As we grew, the time demands on us (Brian and Jan), became too great and we welcomed our bike/tri manager's interest, Kevin O'Connor in purchasing the bike/tri side of the business. Therefore in 2004, we split into two stores, Gear West Bike and Tri and Gear West Ski, Run, Soccer & specialty clothing.

As sole owner of the newly divided run and ski store, we expanded our mail order capabilities, added soccer equipement, Bixby Pellet stoves, Trager Pellet Grills and built a new Gear West building to house it all. That is why there are two Gear West brick and motor stores (connected under one roof) and two Gear West web sites. But, we have one desire, and that is to bring you the best service and the best products in the areas of business we are most passionate about.
